It’s true what they say - love has no boundaries. This was certainly the case for the gorgeous couple’s wedding I covered at Traquair House last week. Whilst Andrew was born and raised in Edinburgh, his beautiful wife had come all the way from Chicago to tie the knot!
Marjorie looked absolutely stunning in her beautifully delicate dress that was brought all the way from Blush Fashion in Tel Aviv, Israel.
Her Make Up was done to perfection by Susie Clarke and hair by Anne at Hair at Home. All matched perfectly with a head dress and bouquet of pretty Scottish wild flowers by Emma from Stems.
Emotions were certainly running high as Marjorie and her dad made their way down the aisle. There was barely a dry eye in sight…even I had to wipe away the odd tear or two away as a radiant bride met her handsome prince underneath a canopy of decadent flowers.
Their ceremony was certainly the best of both worlds, combining Scottish and Jewish traditions. Hand-fasting and readings were performed by Fiona Blair, followed by a Jewish ceremony conducted by Rabbi Mark Solomon - complete with the breaking of a wine glass by Andrew.
The couple exchanged their vows beneath a decorative canopy called a chuppah, encompassed within the knotted Yew Tree Circle in the grounds of Traquair. A natural, magical arena over 900 years old, it is believed to be part of the ancient Ettrick woodland.
Guests from all over the world and the UK came to witness the couple’s fairytale wedding - including Marjorie’s Maid of Honour, without whom, the couple may never have met!
As Spring days go, Andrew and Marjorie really couldn't have chosen a better day to get married. With the daffodils having woke from their winter slumber, we just had to make the most of the luscious outdoor surroundings.
Andrew just couldn’t keep his eyes off his beautiful bride throughout the shoot - and their smiles said it all!
Congratulations again Marjorie and Andrew - I loved covering your special day and can’t wait to get working on your album!
