What can I say? I am over-joyed to be back out shooting weddings! ! It’s been a seriously tough time for all, but to be able to get back to doing what I love the most and at one of my favourite locations in the Tweed Valley is such a good feeling.
Pauline and Richard got in touch with me during lock-down. I was so glad to hear from them and in a tiny way it gave me a little glimmer of hope that very soon I would be back out taking photos at weddings. The date was set in August and due to the ongoing guidelines it was just themselves and two witnesses. I love any wedding but my favourite has to be the small, intimate ones -it means I can dedicate and focus (no pun intended) my entire energy on the lovely bride and groom.
After getting ready in the house, Richard led his beautiful bride by the hand to Cupid’s Garden for their outdoor ceremony. Richard looked very handsome in his Tweed jacket and Pauline looked stunning and almost fairy like with her flower garland and rose pink dress.
Once the ceremony concluded, they had a little toast to mark the occasion and we headed out into the beautiful gardens surrounding Traquair House . The gardens are always such a lovely place to sneak away with the bride and groom - especially at this time of year when they’re in full bloom.
I loved the yellow flowers and tall grass in this field - these colours just sum up a lazy late summer afternoon.
Current social distancing guidelines haven’t really hampered my style at all, as I love to use a long lens and giving the happy couple some distance to be themselves. I’ve always felt that this style compliments a laid-back and relaxed feel to the photos.
Parts of the woodland around Traquair date back to the original Ettrick Forest. A stop at the Yew Tree Circle was a must!
Congratulations again Pauline and Richard - your special day was so stunning and I’m pleased you chose me to capture it for you both! Right now, I think you should both grab a glass of something bubbly, make yourselves comfortable and head on over to your online gallery and re-live your magical day.
