Rosetta Mini Sessions!

This year's mini sessions were held at Rosetta Nursery, Peebles - and what a success they were! It was lovely to see some new faces as well as welcome back clients from previous years.  It's always nice to see how their children are growing up!!

Together we raised £360 for the nursery's fund - a wonderful achievement which wouldn't have been possible without such loyal clients! So, a huge thank you to all that came along and a huge thank you also to Rosetta Nursery for letting me set up my studio!

Here's a small selection of some of the images from this year's sessions! Enjoy!!

There will be another mini session for Mother's Day next year! Do watch this space!

Family Bonds..

This is the second of my lovely family portrait sessions in Eddleston this week! We had a fantastic opportunity to do some outdoor shots too! Perfect for little girls to feel free and be themselves with their favourite cuddly companion!! What an utterly gorgeous family they were to photograph! Thank you so much for making the long journey down from Falkirk to see me!

I Don't Care What the Weatherman Says!

I love a good outdoor shoot - and it is true that they are few and far between this time of year! That didn't stop us this weekend however!  A crisp and frosty morning made for a great setting for this wonderful family!!  Bobble-hats, snuggly warm coats and cheeky toddler smiles completed a perfect shoot!

A Fleeting Moment..

Newborn shoots are among my favourite to do. It's a real privilege to share in that moment when everything is brand new.  The overwhelming feelings and emotions between parent, baby and sibling.  It brings it all flooding back to when my babies were brand new too.  So I know how important it is to capture it.

I love to take my time and set up shots, making sure everything perfect so that mum and dad have some beautiful images to look back upon for years to come.  Memories to cherish. Sometimes, though, it is that split second moment that you have to capture before it is gone forever.  Like the unmistakable connection between sisters that presents itself.  That's where the skill of a photographer comes into its own.  This wonderful little shoot had many moments - but two in particular I think, really sum up the love for a newborn baby and the pride of an older sibling.

Getting Back into the Swing of Things....

I certainly can't complain about going back to work! My maternity leave has finished, and what better way to return than having two brand new babies visit the studio!

Each one completely and utterly adorable!! I do LOVE my job!!

1, 2, 3......Surprise!

Wow!! What a wedding this was! I am so honoured to have been a part of it!

Two lovely ladies, Estella and Pauline, each celebrating their 60th Birthday - which all of their guests believed they were celebrating too.  Little did they know that Estella and Pauline had planned a surprise wedding! The news was broken shortly after we assembled friends and family for what they thought was a group shot.  I loved watching and photographing everybody's reactions!

The ceremony commenced shortly afterwards and was so lovely and heartfelt.  I must admit I had to wipe away the odd tear  :)

Thank you so much Estella and Pauline for asking me to be a part of your special day.  It was definitely a celebration that will stay with me for a long time!

Project Paddington

Recently a group of mums in Peebles and Innerleithen got together to support Project Paddington; a way to help refugee children via sponsorship of a teddy bear, which then makes it's way to a child in need of some comfort.  It is a great way to raise awareness and funds where they're needed.

Today, Happy Feet in Peebles took part in a Teddy Bear's Picnic, to help raise awareness.  The kids had a great time getting their face-painting by Joanne Rorison and then devouring lots of scrummy-yummy cakes and biscuits, along with their teddy-companions!

Below is a small selection of images from the day.  You can view more on the gallery (if you were present at the picnic please email me to obtain a password).  Any profits made from prints sold from the gallery will be donated to Project Paddington.

If you would like to sponsor one of our bears, before it makes it's way to a refugee child, please get in touch! Alternatively we can send you a sponsor form and name tag, so that you or a child can send a bear of their own.

Craig and Sarah Marry at Ednam House!

Well, what can I say about this wedding?!  Sometimes you have a day where everything goes just perfectly - and that was very much how it was for Craig and Sarah's big day.  The flowers were beautiful, the wedding car (well, campervan!) was just awesome, the bride was stunning, the groom handsome and all of the guests were full of smiles and laughter.  And, for what started as a grey and rainy day, broke to glorious sunshine when it mattered.

Congratulations once again to you both - and thank you so much for asking me along to photograph your special day.  It really was fantastic!

Here is a slideshow of some of my favourite images of the day.  Please view in HD.  For client view, click.

Double Celebrations!

Maternity shoots are one of my favourites - and even more so when the mum-to-be also announces that she has just got engaged! I loved this shoot - double celebrations for this happy couple!

Back to where it began!

I feel like I've gone full circle! Photographing steam trains is where I started in photography...so when the Scottish Borders Railway opened I had to get a shot of one of their celebratory steam hauled trains.  Here is the beautiful 60163 Tornado blasting passed the dramatic backdrop of Borthwick Castle.  Timeless, classic and beautiful!

Big thanks goes to the lovely farmer, who very kindly let me into his field to take this shot.

Dave and Julie Tie the Knot!

Congratulations once again to Dave and Julie who tied the knot  at The Capital Hotel, Costorphine, Edinburgh.  The day was full of laughter, tears and joy.  The bride was radiant, sporting a beaming smile from start to finish and the groom couldn't have look happier as the vows were exchanged in a lovely humanist ceremony.  The weather may have thrown it's worst at us, but that didn't hold us back from capturing some perfect moments, which I am sure will be cherished for years to come.

Dave and Julie, it was a pleasure to be chosen as your wedding photographer and share in your special day.  I wish you many happy years together!

Precious Memories....

A warm welcome to the studio for little baby Hugo and his mum & dad.  Hugo was almost 4 weeks of age when he came to visit me - such a gorgeous, alert little fella! We got some wonderful, classic black and white images of him. Such precious memories! :)

Time Goes By....

I can't quite believe my little man has turned six months!! It doesn't seem five minutes ago that I was announcing his birth to the world!

Happy half birthday little fella - you and your sister fill my world with such happiness :) X
